The AIRdirondack Chair Project. Our incredible project where local artists take an Adirondack Chair and create an AIRdirondack Chair. If you’re an Airdrie native they’re a little hard to miss, as we have had incredible support with this initiative for the past six years. This year is no exception, as local businesses have been eager to have an opportunity to display them, starting the buzz to show off just how incredible they are.

This year we have 12 uniquely amazing chairs up for auction!

The AIRdrondack Project has always been our most coveted event, and in previous years was a Gala Affair, worthy of dusting off your ‘black tie attire.’

However, we’ve changed nearly everything up this year leaving no chair unturned! Bad puns aside, we’re no longer hosting a fancy gala, which means that the auction is now accessible for everyone.

We spent Friday afternoon distributing this year’s incredible chairs to various businesses around Airdrie, where you can see them now. ¬†Then for our newly formatted 3-day festival, running September 29-October 2, we will have them on-site for viewing and final bids.

Take a moment and check out the online auction here. If you prefer to see things in person (I know I do!) please visit the following locations around Airdrie:

Airdrie Public Library
City of Airdrie – City Hall
Pharmasave / The Store Upstairs
Brewsters
Good Earth Cafe
Sorso Coffee Co.
Genesis Place
Home Hardware
McArthur’s Fine Furniture

We’ll also be attending Airdrie Fest on September 10, and will be at the Airdrie Farmer’s Market every Wednesday this month – to answer any questions you have, complete with a few chairs to view!
